Atomic Heart Game Details

Atomic Heart is an upcoming FPS action role-playing video game developed by Mundfish and published by Focus Entertainment and 4Divinity. The game is planned for release for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on February 21, 2023.

GAMEPLAY

Atomic Heart is a FPS video game with action role-playing elements. The combat in the game consists of shooting and slashing with improvised weapons. There is a crafting system where the weapons can be pieced together from metal parts that can be detached from robots or taken from household appliances. Weapons can also be upgraded via a mechanic called “casettes.” Ammo in the game is scarce, and there is a sneaking option. Quick-time events are also featured in the game. The player wears a special glove, the Polymer Glove, which grants him powers such as telekinesis, freezing, and electricity to defeat his foes. Its powers can be combined with both melee and ranged weapons.

Ammunition can also be upgrades with various elemental effects using cannisters. These cannisters can be looted and crafted, and then equipped by the player on both melee- and ranged weapons. If the cannister depletes, it is discarded from the players inventory.

Atomic Heart features a wide variety of enemies. These enemies are mechanical, biomechanical, biological or airborne.

List of enemies:

  • Belyash. A giant robot engineered to carry heavy objects, installation, plumbing, and to weld at great hights. Belyash will be the players first bossfight, but will then turn into a regular enemy.
  • Rotorobot. A robot on multiple wheels with multiple sharp arms, used for harvesting crops. With a reach of 360 degrees, this enemy is extremely lethal on close-range combat.
  • Rafik. The butler robot, a machine to serve the common man. Has extraordinarily high mobility, and can soak the player in a stream of polymers.
  • Burav. A giant worm-shaped drill stretching tens of meters long.
  • Hedgie. Also nicknamed hedgehog. Used for exploring mountain ranges and collecting flower samples. One of the biggest threats considering his high speeds and weight.
  • Dandelion. A security robot. Able to detect the player, raise the alarm, and send enforcements to his location.
  • Laborer. Also nicknamed VoV/a6, or simply Vova in the community. Easily the most common robot, mostly used to help the workers of facility 3826 with laboratory work. Able to withstand higher temperatures then humans, therefore an essential piece in the laboratories. Vova’s come in black and white, the black Vova’s being equipped with a facial laser, which can easily split a person in half.
  • Pchela. A robot which is reminiscent of the average bee. Able to repair robots, or create them out of thin air. These robots are commonly found in Beehives, which are scattered across the map.

STORY

Atomic Heart takes place in the Soviet Union in an alternate 1955. Advances in robotics in the 1930s enabled the USSR to defeat Nazi Germany in 1941, though with a much more severe loss of life. This results in the automation of Soviet labor and the development of a proto-Internet called the “Collectiv 1.0” linking these robots to a collective hivemind, vastly increasing productivity and scientific advancement by the end of the 1940s.

Concurrently, scientist Dmitry Sechenov develops the “neuro-polymer”, a programmable module based on living tissue. A believer in a collective consciousness, Sechenov plans to launch the most advanced iteration of the “Collectiv 2.0” on his 55th birthday in 1955. This Collectiv 2.0 (also nicknamed “Thought”), allows the user to enchance its mental capabilities and brain-activity, causing in huge amounts of information to be absorbed in very little time, and more.

The main protagonist is a mentally unstable KGB special agent called Major Nechaev, nicknamed P-3, who is sent by his contractor Sechenov to keep the situation at facility 3826 from deteriorating. P3 is challenged with taking out robots that went haywire, failed biomechanical experiments, and his own mental health.

Development

One Piece Odyssey was announced on March 28, 2022, as part of the One Piece franchise’s 25th anniversary. It is being developed by ILCA and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows and Xbox Series X/S. The game’s soundtrack is being composed by Motoi Sakuraba. On September 7, 2022, the game’s key visual was revealed.

One Piece Odyssey was originally scheduled to be released in 2022; before being pushed back until January 13, 2023.

Release

Atomic Heart is developed by Mundfish, a Russian studio with headquarters in Cyprus. The team has previously developed the VR game Soviet Lunapark, but ceased development and delisted the game in late 2018 to focus on Atomic Heart. The studio uses Unreal Engine 4 and implements Nvidia RTX and DLSS technologies in the GeForce RTX graphics cards.

In February 2022 a story trailer showed that Atomic Heart will launch in “#######BER”, suggesting the game’s release some time in Q4 2022. However, later in November, it was announced that the game will be released on February 21, 2023, self-published by Mundfish in the CIS, co-published by 4Divinity in Asia, and published by French-based company Focus Entertainment Worldwide except CIS and Asia.
